The CubeSat Layer Kit facilitates the integration of all XinaBox components (xChips) into the CubeSat format, using the standard CubeSat hardware standard.

Kit composition:

2 x BS01 (east and west) “Bridge SingleBoardComputer” with the CubeSat PC104 connectors

1 x MB01 “Mechanic Board/Backplane” for added mechanical stability if required

8 x Screws, spacers, nuts (2mm) for fastening 4 xChips to the MB01

8 x Spacers (3mm) for below the MB01

4 x Spacers for between the BS01s and the MB01,

4 x standard XinaBox connectors to secure 4 xChips to the BS01s

How it works:

One kit is used to create one layer of a CubeSat payload.

Add the kit to any other XinaBox kit or XinaBox xChips, to build a CubeSat engineering model or simulators. A video describing this kit can be found here https://youtu.be/lUHGCLrb-74.

Whether you use the XinaBox CubeSat in the classroom exclusively, or you fly your CubeSat on a party balloon, hot air balloon, or high altitude mission, on board space craft such as Blue Origin's New Shepard, Virgin Galactic's SpaceShipTwo or the International Space Station, or get lucky enough to launch it into space, building a CubeSat is easy. XinaBox allows you to realise the IKEA effect, feeling proud of building and programming your own satellite from scratch.
